An ex-army man from Pakistan was arrested by the BSF while he was trying to sneak into the country from the International Border (IB) along Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Late evening on Monday a suspicious movement beyond fence on the International Border in Ramgarh Sector was noticed by alert BSF troops and they fired few rounds as a preventive measure,” said a senior BSF officer.
“Due to fog and wild growth, the suspicious movement could not be further observed. Later, at about 0100 hours alert BSF personnel on duty at a Naka mound again observed suspicious movement of a person beyond fence on the Indian side of IB. Alert BSF troops forced him to surrender and arrested him,” he added
The officer said that he has been identified as Mohammed Baksh, 65, son of Firozdin of Gandyal village in Pasroor Tehsil of Sialkot district of Punjab in Pakistan.
The intruder was forced to surrender and was arrested, the officer said.
Earlier this month, a similar intrusion was reported in on the Line of Control in Poonch district and was arrested after being injured in firing. Army sources said the intruder had crossed into the Indian side of LoC from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in Rangard nallah in Chakan-Da-Bangh in Poonch.
