A plane of IndiGo Airlines made an emergency landing at the Varanasi’s Lal Bahadur Shashtri International Airport on Sunday noon after its engine developed a technical snag, a senior officer of the Airport said, adding that the flight was on way to Gorakhpur from Hyderabad.

In the noon, the pilot of the plane contacted the ATC and sought permission for landing after the plane’s engine developed some technical glitch, said Airport Director Akashdeep Mathur.
He said that the arrangements required for emergency landing were made at the airport and the plane was given permission for landing. The plane landed safe. There were 150 passengers onboard the plane.
The passengers were sent to Gorakhpur through another flight.
Mathur said that the plane was still grounded and efforts were on to rectify the glitch.
