According to the Zee News-Matrize Opinion Poll, Congress is projected to win between 103-118 seats in the 2023 Karnataka assembly elections and may cross the majority mark of 113 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party, on the other hand, is expected to settle with 74-94 seats. The poll also predicts Janata Dal (Secular) to win 25-33 seats.

In terms of vote share, the Congress is anticipated to receive 41%, while the BJP is projected to capture 36% of the vote bank. JD(S), however, is expected to get only 17% of the vote share.
The exit poll also suggests that independents may get about 6% of the vote share, which could translate into 2-5 seats.
Voters' mood shifted as election approached!
The earlier Zee News-Matrize Opinion Poll had predicted that the BJP would win 103 to 115 seats, while Congress would win 79 to 91 seats, and JD(S) would win 26-36 seats. However, most other surveys predict that Congress will cross the majority mark.

Result of 2018 Karnataka assembly elections
In the 2018 Karnataka assembly elections, the BJP won 104 seats, followed by the Congress with 80 and the JD(S) with 37; there was one independent member, while the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Karnataka Pragnyavantha Janatha Party (KPJP) each had one winner.
Record voter turnout on Wednesday
Karnataka recorded a voter turnout of 65.69% voter turnout till 5pm in the 2023 election held on Wednesday. Karnataka had recorded a voter turnout of 72.36 per cent in the 2018 Assembly polls.
