Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday offered prayers at Kashi Vishwanath Temple in his constituency of Varanasi, a day after arriving there for a two-day visit.
People showered rose petals on Modi en route to the temple amid chants of “Har Har Mahadev”. Priests sounded the conch shells as Modi arrived at the temple.
Modi is due to visit Hardoi to inaugurate the 594-km-long Ganga Expressway connecting Meerut to Prayagraj. The high-speed corridor is expected to boost connectivity and boost investment.
In a post on X, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath said the state’s development journey would gain new momentum with the inauguration of the expressway. He described the six-lane expressway as a lifeline connecting villages, farmers, entrepreneurs, and youth. Adityanath said it would play a key role in accelerating development and bridging distances.
Modi will visit an exhibition of the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority, plant saplings, and address a public meeting before returning to Delhi.
