Mumbai received moderate to heavy rainfall at several locations between 1am and 10am on Sunday, with the western and eastern suburbs recording the heaviest showers, according to rainfall data. Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) Fire Station recorded the highest rainfall at 147.6 mm during the nine-hour period.
In the eastern suburbs, M West Ward recorded 135.6 mm, followed by Collector Colony Municipal School in Chembur with 132.8 mm and Maravali Municipal School, Chembur, with 127.6 mm.
The western suburbs also saw substantial rainfall at several locations. Borivali Fire Station recorded 138 mm, while Bandra Fire Station received 135.6 mm and the R Central Ward Office recorded 135 mm. Magathane Bus Depot recorded 133.6 mm.
In the island city, rainfall was comparatively lower, though several areas received close to or above 100 mm. Fosberry Reservoir recorded 106.2 mm, followed by SWD Workshop, Dadar, at 103.8 mm. City Institute of DM recorded 99 mm, while Sewri Koliwada Municipal School received 98.4 mm and Dadar Fire Station recorded 97.8 mm.
The data, recorded between 1am and 10am on September 13, indicates that rainfall was particularly intense in parts of the western and eastern suburbs, with multiple locations crossing the 130-mm mark.
