    India's Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman, Jagdeep Dhankhar, defended the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in the House on Wednesday, stating that it has "unimpeachable credentials" and is doing "national service." He reacted strongly to remarks made by a Samajwadi Party MP. During the Question Hour, SP's Ramji Lal Suman claimed that RSS affiliation was a factor in selecting the head of the National Testing Agency (NTA).     Aam Adami Party MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney said the government announced 100 Smart Cities but progress is very miniscule.

    Several Opposition MPs in Lok Sabha expressed concern over the "increase" in number of train accidents in the country.

    RJD MP from Aurangabad Abhay Kumar Sinha said the recent train accidents indicate there are many shortcomings in the functioning of the railways that need to be addressed.

    "Since Independence, only 18 per cent of new railway tracks have been laid. Every year, 275 km expansion has happened, which is very little," he said. “It should be increased, more railway tracks should be laid down, and old tracks should be repaired so that accidents can be stopped.”
