    Parliament session LIVE updates: Govt doesn't want House to run at all, alleges KC Venugopal

    Congress general secretary KC Venugopal has alleged that the House is getting adjourned only because of the central government.

    "They don't want to run the House at all. We raised the issue and they adjourned the House within 10 seconds... The govt doesn't want to hear the name of Adani in the parliament," he added.

    Venugopal further alleged that Parliamentary Affairs minister Kiren Rijiju made a very provocative and defamatory statement just before the House commenced today and said, "That is a new thing."

    BJD MP Sasmit Patra told ANI that the way proceedings of the house gets disrupted, it is very unfortunate for smaller parties like his (Biju Janata Dal).

    "...because every day we come armed with our zero hours questions, supplementary special mentions, our debates and we generally find that larger parties dominate the overall proceedings and based on which side they are on that day the House gets adjourned," he added.

    Patra further said, "On one side you have the BJP which is raising the issue of George Soros and the Congress Party on the other side is raising the Adani issue. I believe a good platform for both of them to take up such issues is the Constitution debate. As you know the Constitution debate is supposed to happen in the Lok Sabha later this week and in the Rajya Samah early next week. I believe the Constitution debate will provide the right opportunity for all political parties to raise everything and anything within the perspective of the Constitution."

    BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi, while addressing a press conference, said that George Soros is the same person who openly admitted to investing $1 billion to "destabilise the Modi government".

    Trivedi further said that George Soros Foundation financially supports the Forum of Democratic Leaders in Asia-Pacific, of which Sonia Gandhi is a member.

    The Forum has four co-chairs and Sonia Gandhi as the chairperson of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation is one of the co-chairpersons of the Forum of Democratic Leaders in Asia-Pacific, he added.

    Trivedi said that the Opposition does not want Soros' investment matter to be discussed. "What is the connection of the Congress with the Forum of Democratic Leaders in Asia-Pacific? Are the anti-India and pro-Pakistan things written in the Forum of Democratic Leaders in Asia-Pacific written with your (Congress) understanding?... Does the Congress have any connection with the traitors (George Soros)?" he asked.
