Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid tributes to Guru Teg Bahadur for his supreme sacrifice as he went to Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib in Delhi in an unscheduled visit. There were no security arrangements or traffic barriers for people during the visit, officials said. In a tweet after his visit PM Modi wrote in Gurmukhi, “Paid homage to Shri Guru Teg Bahadur ji today at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib. Guru ji did a lot to protect the Hindu religion and gave the message of communal harmony.”
PM Modi had also paid tributes to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji on his Shaheedi Diwas in a tweet on Saturday. “Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s life epitomised courage and compassion. On his Shaheedi Diwas, I bow to the great Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and recall his vision for a just and inclusive society.”
