President Murmu lauds Modi govt for ending 'feeling of alienation' in people of northeast
President Droupadi Murmu was addressing both houses of Parliament ahead of the commencement of the Budget Session 2025.
Addressing a joint sitting of Parliament on Friday, President Droupadi Murmu said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government has ensured balanced development of the country and taken efforts in “ending feeling of alienation” in people of northeast.
“My government has understood these feelings of the people of the northeast and ended the feeling of being a door to their heart.. The government has done the work of more than 10 peace agreements,” President Droupadi Murmu said, after which a commotion was heard in the backdrop
President Murmu also offered condolences over the stampede incident at the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj that killed at least 30 people on Wednesday.

"The historic Maha Kumbh is going on. It is a festival of our cultural traditions and social awakening. Crores of devotees from India and the world have taken a holy dip in Prayagraj. I express my condolences on the accident that occurred on Mauni Amavasya and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured," President Murmu said.

President Murmu further said, "My government believes in women-led development in the country...The government aims to have 3 crore Lakhpati didi".
Listing the government's efforts and achievements, President Droupadi Murmu said Centre has started 'India AI Mission' to further India's contribution in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
India is making its presence felt as a major global player in field of digital technology, President Murmu said.
President Murmu also said that the day is not far when India will launch its own human space flight ‘Gaganyaan’.
President Droupadi Murmu said that the government “has used digital technology as a tool for social justice and equality, adding that the government is continuously working towards ensuring efficiency in cyber security. ”Digital fraud, cyber crime and deepfake pose challenge to social, economic and national security," President Murmu added.
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla welcomed President Droupadi Murmu in Parliament on Friday.
