Riot-free UP to Rahul, Akhilesh’s age: What Yogi Adityanath said in Parliament

Two days after becoming UP chief minister, Yogi Adityanath talks about his state in Parliament.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, a five-time MP from Gorakhpur, told the Lok Sabha on Tuesday his state would emerge as “Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi’s state of dreams”.

“It will be the best state in the country,” he said.

Adityanath, who was sworn in two days ago, is yet to give up his Lok Sabha membership.

He spoke on a range of issues, from promising a corruption-free Uttar Pradesh to the love between MPs in Parliament. HT lists five things he said:

CORRUPTION: Uttar Pradesh It will be a corruption and riot-free pradesh. It will be a hooliganism (goondagardi) free state.

AGE JIBE: I am a year younger to Rahul Gandhi and a year senior to Akhilesh Yadav. May be they lost because I came in between them.

EXTORTION: In last 15 years, we have not allowed a single businessman to give gunda tax, not one businessman was abducted. We will establish this situation in UP

MODI MANDATE: Our party has given me the mandate to invite you to come to UP. You all (MPs) will be welcomed and the state will be a dream state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi

NOISY HOUSE: Before entering Parliament I did not know what to expect. When I entered here, there was love and affection. In the House lot of noise there are not of noise. It is part of democratic system but outside we hug each other.
