He allegedly shot himself on late Monday evening from his father’s licensed pistol at his residence in Kishangadh village.

He was rushed to the Post Graduate of Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) in the district, where his condition continues to be critical. He is admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU), said Meham police post in-charge Ram Niwas.

He was expecting a much better result and was aiming for Indian Administrative Services (IAS). But the board results came as a shock to him. This seems to be the only explanation of his act, as told to police by his father.

Prashant’s father Baljeet is a nambardar in the village. The police said the family is not able to officially record a statement as of now.
