In a new twist in the murder of a 15-year-old boy whose body was found inside a bed at his house in Rohtak’s Samargopalpur village, the police on Tuesday arrested his 19-year-old sister for allegedly smashing his head with a hammer and then slitting his throat with a knife.

Dharam, also known as Monty Singh, a Class 10 student was found dead on Saturday at his house. His sister Kajal, who studies in Class 12, told police that their father Tejpal murdered Monty. Her version was supported by their mother Susheela, who said Tejpal had a troubled relationship with the children over the past few months.

Based on their version, police had booked Tejpal on charges of murder. However, police said they found several loopholes in the story narrated by Kajal. Under sustained interrogation, she confessed to killing Monty.

“Kajal revealed during the investigation that she was angry with her brother for always telling their mother about her speaking to her boyfriend on phone. This would often earn Kajal her mother’s ire. So she chalked out a plan to get rid of Monty,” Rohtak superintendent of police Pankaj Nain said.

Kajal then shifted Monty’s body inside a bed in their room and cleaned the blood stains on floor. She then left her house and took a bus to Panipat, from where she called her mother to inform her that their father had murdered Monty and tried to kill her as well, but that she managed to escape.

Her mother rushed to home to find her son dead and informed the cops.

Sources said the first time police got suspicious of Kajal’s version was when they arrested Tejpal, but he was seemed unaware that his son was dead.
