In preparation for Alvida Jumma, the final Friday of Ramzan, security measures have been significantly ramped up across Uttar Pradesh, as per police officials.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abhishek Bharti said the security arrangements include the deployment of Quick Reaction Teams (QRT), Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), and the Rapid Action Force (RAF) in sensitive areas to ensure law and order.
"The entire city has been divided into sectors and zones in view of the Alvida prayers. QRT teams have been deployed in sensitive areas. PAC and RAF are also being stationed. Surveillance is being conducted using drones. Foot patrols are being carried out," news agency ANI quoted DCP Bharti.
1,000 cops deployed in Lucknow, prohibitory orders in Noida
Additionally, Joint Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, Babloo Kumar, stated that more than 1,000 police personnel and nine PAC companies have been deployed in Lucknow for enhanced security. He said that monitoring would be conducted through CCTV cameras and drones.

In Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida), Section 163 BNSS has been implemented from March 28 to March 31 in view of Alvida Jumma, Cheti Chand festival and Eid-ul-Fitr, ANI reported. Section 163 in Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) comprises power to issue order in urgent cases of nuisance or apprehended danger.

Ramzan, also known as Ramadan, is the most sacred month in the Islamic calendar, observed during the ninth month of the Hijri (Islamic lunar) calendar. During this period, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset, known as ‘Roza’, one of the five pillars of Islam, symbolising devotion, self-restraint, and spiritual reflection.
