A 29-year-old man allegedly stabbed his parents to death in Idukki, Kerala, police said on Saturday.

Police arrested Ajeesh after he allegedly killed his father, Antony, 59, and mother, Valsamma, 55, at their residence in Ezhukumvayal around 9.30pm on Friday.
Police said Ajeesh, who had a history of alcohol and drug use, had previously undergone a de-addiction programme. After returning from the centre, he frequently quarrelled with his parents, they said.

On Friday night, he allegedly stabbed his parents multiple times before recording a video of the injured couple and sending it to a relative. The relative alerted the parish priest and neighbours, who rushed to the house and found the couple dead, police said.
After being taken into custody, Ajeesh allegedly told police that he had sent his parents to “heaven” after receiving a “call from God”. Police said he did not harm his grandmother, who was also present at the house.

On Saturday, when Ajeesh was taken to the house as part of the evidence collection process, he began asking about his mother, police said.
Nedumkandam police, who registered a murder case, produced Ajeesh before a court, which remanded him in judicial custody, officials said.
