A special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Bhopal sentenced a man to 10 years of imprisonment and 30 persons to seven years in connection with alleged irregularities in the 2013 police constable recruitment exam, a part of the Vyapam scam, a senior CBI advocate said on Monday.
CBI advocate Satish Dinkar said, “The court awarded seven years imprisonment each to 30 accused, including 12 candidates from Bhind and Morena, 12 impersonators from UP and six middlemen from UP and MP arrested by the CBI. Pradeep Tyagi was awarded 10 years imprisonment for his involvement in rigging other recruitment exams conducted by Vyapam.” “The CBI produced 91 eyewitnesses and 401 documents to prove that the 12 impersonators were arranged by seven middlemen to help 12 candidates to clear the police constable recruitment exam 2013, conducted by Vyapam,” he said.
The case is linked to the 2013 Vyapam (Vyavasayik Pareeksha Mandal) case when the Madhya Pradesh police arrested 20 impersonators appearing for the medical entrance examination in Indore.
