Two female sports trainees were found dead at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) hostel in Kerala’s Kollam district, a police officer said. The deceased were aged 17 and 15 belonging to Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram districts.
‘The two girls were found dead in a hostel room by their fellow inmates in the early hours of Thursday. They didn’t come for the morning training,” a senior officer of Kollam East police station told HT.

“The investigation is going on. More details will emerge in the next few hours,” he added.
While the 17-year-old was an athletics trainee, the other was a kabaddi player.
Police said it will record statements of SAI officials and fellow inmates to ascertain the cause of deaths.
