Mohammad, 24, from Hyderabad, was reportedly working in an outlet of retailer Tesco in Slough, near London.

“Aqib Pervaiz, aged 26, of Rochford Gardens, Slough, was charged this evening (10/5) with one count of murder,” said the police.

“It is in connection with an incident in Slough at 12.32pm on Wednesday (8/5), which resulted in the death of 24-year-old Nadeem Uddin Hameed Mohammed, from Southall, in the car park of Tesco in Wellington Street”.

Pervaiz, who was arrested on Thursday from Birmingham, has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before the Reading Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

The police named the victim after a formal identification and post-mortem confirmed the cause of death as a stab wound to the chest.

Slough, located 18 km from Southall, has a large community of Indian-origin people.

“I understand that this would have caused concern in the community, but I would like to offer some reassurance to the public that we do not believe this incident to be a random attack, and that the people involved in the incident are believed to be known to one another,” said Ian Hunter of the Thames Valley Police
