Woman allegedly raped by cook, guard of Radha Rani temple in Mathura

The 50-year-old woman was allegedly raped on September 11 night.

A 50-year-old woman from West Bengal was allegedly raped by two men on the premises of Radha Rani Temple at Barsana in Mathura district, police said on Thursday.

“The accused have been identified as the cook and guard of the temple and a case has been registered on the woman’s complaint,” said Aditya Shukla, superintendent of police (rural), Mathura.

The woman came to Barsana from Kolkata a week ago and lived on alms. She was allegedly raped on September 11 night.

“The woman has been sent for medical examination,” said the SP. “The accused will be arrested shortly.”
