03:01 hrs IST: That is all we have from here. Join us for the final ODI in Jamaica on July 6. Bye Bye.

02:59 hrs IST: Holder: It took a big effort and credit to all the bowlers. It shows if we believe, we can compete. We spoke to bowl into the wicket. India’s top-order has done the scoring and we were looking to get a few early wickets. In his second game, Williams showed a lot of maturity. It is an area of concern.

02:55 hrs IST: Jason Holder is the Man of the Match. This was his maiden five-wicket haul.

02:51 hrs IST: Virat Kohli: Our shot selections was not great. Low scoring games can be tricky. Credit to Windies bowlers, bowled tight lines and caused the mistakes. I don’t think there was much in the pitch. Definitely the batting and something that will have to look into going into the final game.

02:42 hrs IST: WICKET! Holder gets his maiden five-wicket haul. What a performance. Full toss and Shami mistimes it to cover. West Indies win by 11 runs and they stay alive in the five-match series. Brilliant stuff from the Windies skipper.

02:36 hrs IST: WICKET! Jason Holder gets his fourth wicket. He nails the yorker and Umesh Yadav falls for a golden duck.

02:35 hrs IST: WICKET! Dhoni holes out straight to long on. He is distraught. The West Indies are now favorites to keep the series alive.

02:32 hrs IST: Kuldeep is struggling to lay bat on ball. The pressure is mounting.

02:28 hrs IST: A great over from Holder. Kesrick Williams will bowl the next. West Indies have done admirably here. Can they pull it off?

02:25 hrs IST: WICKET! The pressure is on India now. Holder angles in a full, slow ball on off stump, Jadeja miscues the lofted shot and holes out to long on. Jadeja c Rovman Powell b Holder 11 (11).

02:19 hrs IST: 64th ODI fifty for Dhoni. It has been his slowest fifty in ODIs till date. India require a run-a-ball.

02:16 hrs IST: Short ball from Holder, Jadeja glides it uppishly over the keeper for a vital boundary. It is all down to Dhoni and Jadeja here.

02:11 hrs IST: WICKET! Brilliant ball from Holder. Joseph slants this full ball on middle stump and it tails in, Pandya looks to shuffle to the off side and glance it to fine leg but the leg stump is pegged back. Hardik Pandya b Holder 20 (21).

02:09 hrs IST: Four wides in the over so far from Alzarri Joseph but he is not nailing the wide yorker. In the last two overs, the pressure has been released by the West Indies.

02:02 hrs IST: Bad gamble by Jason Holder as Chase gives away 16 runs in his over. Pandya makes it easier for India by slog sweeping Chase into the stands at deep mid wicket.

02:00 hrs IST: First boundary for MS Dhoni. Chase bowled this down the leg side and the former India skipper helps it to the fine leg boundary. That should ease the pressure.

01:59 hrs IST: Roston Chase is into the attack. An offspinner. Dhoni has consumed 100 balls for his 40. So uncharacteristic of him. But, maybe, a last over thriller on the cards?

01:56 hrs IST: Another good over from Kesrick Williams. India are slipping up badly here. They are just not finding teh boundary. Only one boundary in the last 22 overs. Can you beat it?

01:48 hrs IST: Dhoni continues to struggle. His strike-rate is a woeful 40.2. Old wine lacking the punch?

01:44 hrs IST: The run-rate has crept up to over six. Dhoni has to get going. If he falls, then India face an uphill battle.

01:39 hrs IST: After 111 balls, the first boundary is hit. That is how difficult batting is on this wicket. Pandya upper glides a short ball from Joseph this to the fine leg fence. Game poised on a knife edge.

01:36 hrs IST: The game is tantalisingly poised now. Getting the big hits on this wicket is not easy. West Indies have a chance.

01:29 hrs IST: WICKET! The match has become very interesting now. Nurse gets this off-break to bounce a bit more as Jadhav looks to defend, the ball takes the inside edge on to the pad and the keeper takes the catch. Kedar Jadhav c Hope b Nurse 10 (14).

01:26 hrs IST: It has been 15 overs since the last boundary was hit in the Indian innings. This has been dour, attritional cricket.

01:23 hrs IST: Kedar Jadhav is trying to show some urgency. India need 81 off 96 balls to win

01:15 hrs IST: The required run-rate is creeping up close to five. Uh oh, Dhoni was seen limping. Looks like it is hamstring. Not an injury cloud now!

01:09 hrs IST: WICKET! Rahane goes for the sweep, misses and is given caught behind. He reviews straightaway, replays show a faint spike on Snicko, Rahane has to go. Another good knock. Rahane c Hope b Bishoo 60 (91).

01:04 hrs IST: The fifty-run stand is up between Dhoni and Rahane. India are making steady progress as they look to clinch the series.

00:58 hrs IST: India need less than a 100. With seven wickets remaining, this should be easy for India but stroke-making on this pitch is hard.

00:53 hrs IST: Rahane finally gets it. Notches up his 19th fifty. His wonderful form in the series continues. His scores so far in this tour have been 62, 103, 72 and now another fifty. India 85/3 in 26 overs, need 105 more to win.

00:42 hrs IST: Ashley Nurse is into the attack. Can he break this partnership? India need 112 more to win.

00:38 hrs IST: Another tight over from Bishoo. He is getting some turn on this wicket. Kesrick Williams, on the other hand, is focusing on tightening the angles.

00:30 hrs IST: Bishoo ends the over poorly as he bowls short and wide outside off, Rahane latches onto it and crashes it to the deep point fence to near his fifty.

00:25 hrs IST: West Indies continue to bowl accurately. Both batsmen are working hard for their runs.

00:19 hrs IST: Dhoni is looking in steady touch while Rahane is nearing a fifty. This partnership needs to grow for India.

00:12 hrs IST: Devendra Bishoo begins with a maiden. West Indies are fighting really hard. After 16 overs, India are 53/3.

00:03 hrs IST: Things have not been easy for India on this deck. Rahane holds the key.

23:58 hrs IST: WICKET! Another batsman perishes to the short ball. Short ball on off stump and it climbs up sharply, Karthik is cramped for room and he top edges it to the keeper. Dinesh Karthik c Shai Hope b Joseph 2 (19).

23:53 hrs IST: Rahane is timing the ball well. Full ball from Joseph and the batsman eases into the flowing cover drive.

23:50 hrs IST: Karthik finally gets off the mark after 13 balls. India are still going the West Indies way as their run-rate is just under four.

23:48 hrs IST: West Indies have bowled well but Rahane is in such great form that India are still on top.

23:45 hrs IST: Rahane breaks the shackles with a boundary. Dinesh Karthik has faced 11 balls and is yet to get off the mark.

23:41 hrs IST: Back-to-back maiden overs for the West Indies. They are pulling it back strongly after a good start from Rahane.

23:37 hrs IST: A maiden over from Joseph. His second maiden over. Watchfully played by Rahane.

23:32 hrs IST: Rahane is continuing to find the boundary and is aided by some sloppy West Indies fielding. Dinesh Karthik, who is playing his first ODI since 2014, needs to hang in there. After eight overs, India are 33/2.

23:25 hrs IST: WICKET! Another failure for Kohli. Short ball and Kohli top edges the pull as he falls for 3. Virat Kohli c Shai Hope b Jason Holder 3 (12).

23:18 hrs IST: Two boundaries by Rahane. He pulls a short ball to deep mid wicket and again hooks a poor ball to fine leg for consecutive boundaries.

23:15 hrs IST: Appeal for an LBW from Holder against Rahane but not given. Height probably an issue. India 14/1 after four overs

23:13 hrs IST: Poor ball from Holder. Short and wide ball, Rahane cracks it to deep point for a boundary.

23:08 hrs IST: WICKET! Short and wide ball from Joseph, Dhawan hacks it to mid on but miscues it and a simple catch is taken. Shikhar Dhawan c Holder b Joseph 5 (7).

23:03 hrs IST: Loud appeal from Holder for a catch behind down the leg side but the umpire signals a wide. No edge but it flicked Shikhar Dhawan’s shirt along the way.

23:00 hrs IST: Steady start for Ajinkya Rahane. He almost pops a catch to short leg but it lands safely.

22:55 hrs IST: Welcome back for the run-chase. India should face no hassles in chasing this down. But, they will not take West Indies lightly.

22:14 hrs IST: West Indies end up on 189/9 in 50 overs. On a sluggish pitch, West Indies will need an inspired performance from their bowlers if they have to stay alive in the series.

22:05 hrs IST: WICKET! Bishoo taps a short ball to point and sets off for a quick single, Jadeja swoops in and fires a throw at the bowler’s end and the batsman is well short. Devendra Bishoo run out Ravindra Jadeja 15 (30).

21:58 hrs IST: WICKET! Nurse is gutted. Short ball and it climbs up awkwardly, Nurse is cramped for room as he looks to pull it, the ball lobs off the inside edge and onto the helmet and Umesh leaps to his right to take the catch. Ashley Nurse c and b Umesh Yadav 4 (12).

21:57 hrs IST: Another excellent over from Shami. West Indies don’t even look like getting to 200. After 47 overs, they are 178/7.

21:52 hrs IST: Kuldeep Yadav finishes his spell. 10-1-31-2. Splendid performance from the Chinaman.

21:49 hrs IST: Hostile over from Mohammed Shami as he concedes just three runs. Can West Indies drag the team past 200?

21:44 hrs IST: Bishoo and Nurse are trying to find the boundary but they will have to encounter the guile of Kuldeep Yadav. After 44 overs, West Indies are 169/7.

21:36 hrs IST: WICKET! Back of a length ball outside off, Mohammed looks to steer it down to third man but finds Jadeja at an unconventional short third man position. Jason Mohammed c Jadeja b Hardik Pandya 20 (33).

21:32 hrs IST: WICKET! Rowman Powell attempts the slog and miscues it, Jadeja runs back from point and takes a good catch. Rowman Powell c Ravindra Jadeja b Umesh Yadav 2 (9).

21:28 hrs IST: After 40 overs, West Indies are 157/5. Can they get to 220? Or better still, 250?

21:25 hrs IST: Kuldeep gets his third or has he? He has trapped Rowman Powell LBW and the batsman reviews. Replays show that it is missing leg stump. He survives. Can West Indies get a push on here?

21:19 hrs IST:WICKET! Strangled down the leg side. Sliding down the leg side, Holder attempts the glance but is caught behind. Jason Holder c Dhoni b Umesh Yadav 11 (10).

21:17 hrs IST: For the first time, West Indies’ run-rate has gone past four. However, they need some big overs.

21:14 hrs IST: Over in Derby, India have achieved the perfect 10 against Pakistan. They have secured a 95-run win as they continue their unbeaten run in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017. This was their third win over Pakistan in World Cups.

21:08 hrs IST: Bouncer barrage from Pandya continues but the line is on leg stump as Holder helps it to the fine leg fence for a boundary.

21:05 hrs IST: Holder and Mohammed now have an enormous task ahead of them. West Indies must eye a score in excess of 220 if they have to make this into a contest.

20:59 hrs IST: WICKET! Short of a length ball from Pandya, Hope looks to run it down to third man but gets an outside edge that is taken by Dhoni diving to his right. Shai Hope c Dhoni b Pandya 25 (39).

20:56 hrs IST: WHAM! Shai Hope gets hit on the helmet to a cross-seamed bouncer that leaps up sharply. He is getting some attention but he is alright. Slight hold up in play.

20:50 hrs IST: Mohammed and Hope now have a big task against an Indian bowling that is looking to restrict them to under 200.

20:46 hrs IST: WICKET! The googly from Kuldeep and Chase is undone by it. He looks to squeeze it out through cover but gets cleaned up. Roston Chase b Kuldeep Yadav 24 (34).

20:40 hrs IST: Chase and Hope have strung a solid partnership that is bearing fifty. However, the run-rate continues to remain under four.

20:35 hrs IST: Over in Derby, India are closing in on the perfect-10 against Pakistan. Mithali Raj’s side are one wicket away from a big win.

20:29 hrs IST: Superb shot from Chase. Kuldeep floats it full outside off and the batsman slog sweeps it to deep mid wicket for a much-needed boundary.

20:27 hrs IST: Chase and Shai Hope are making steady progress. West Indies’ run-rate is almost close to four.

20:22 hrs IST: Jadeja continues to be unlucky. Dinesh Karthik misfields at long off and Roston Chase gets the boundary. After 25 overs, West Indies are 97/2.

20:16 hrs IST: Shai Hope bludgeons a flatter delivery to deep mid wicket as he looks to get going. Jadeja’s figures so far are 7-0-31-2

20:12 hrs IST: WICKET! And he strikes. Poor shot from Lewis. Flighted delivery that dips on Lewis, he dances down the track and gets beaten in the flight as he toe-ends the slog to mid wicket. Ewin Lewis c Kohli b Kuldeep 35 (60).

20:10 hrs IST: Kuldeep Yadav is into the attack now. Can he get some quick wickets? West Indies have struggled to pick him up in the last two ODIs.

20:08 hrs IST: Lewis is starting to open up here as he muscles Jadeja straight down the ground for his second six.

20:04 hrs IST: Lewis continues to hold fort as he gets underneath a full ball from Pandya and lofts him to the long off fence.

19:57 hrs IST: One Hope departs, another one comes in. Kyle’s brother Shai comes out to bat with West Indies in not such a good position.

19:53 hrs IST: WICKET! Hope’s vigil ends. Short ball, the batsman looks to muscle it over mid on but ends up slicing it to sweeper cover. Kyle Hope c Kedar Jadhav b Hardik Pandya 35 (63).

19:49 hrs IST: Another tight over from Jadeja. West Indies are just not able to accelerate.

19:44 hrs IST: The fifty-run opening stand is up for West Indies but it has taken them 16 overs. They need to accelerate.

19:42 hrs IST: Kyle Hope again finds the boundary as he whacks a flat and full ball from Jadeja to deep mid wicket. But, once again, West Indies are unable to get a big over in. After 15 overs, West Indies are 48/0.

19:34 hrs IST: Jadeja and Hardik Pandya are operating at the moment. Both batsmen continue to make slow progress.

19:27 hrs IST: After 10 overs, West Indies are 31/0. Pitch mighty difficult for strokeplay one feels.

19:23 hrs IST: The run-rate is just over three at the moment. This is grinding ODI cricket. Over in Derby, India women’s team have reduced Pakistan to 15/4.

STAT ATTACK - West Indies have lost 10 and won only two ODIs in Antigua.

17:10 hrs IST: Good evening and welcome to HT’s live coverage of penultimate ODI of the five-match series between India - West Indies.

After the opening game of the series was washed out, Virat Kohli-led India have comprehensively dominated the subsequent two One-Day Internationals to take a 2-0 lead.

The visitors won the second ODI in Port of Spain by a huge 105-run margin before scripting a 93-run victory in Antigua on Friday.

Difference in quality

The difference in quality between third-ranked India and the hosts who are at a lowly ninth in the International Cricket Council’s ODI ladder was quite clear.

MS Dhoni’s fiery innings in the second ODI will come as a huge impetus for Kohli’s side, while the experiment to promote Kedar Jadhav also bore good results.

Dhoni showed glimpses of his vintage hard hitting self to give the Indian innings a much needed momentum towards the end.

Opener Ajinkya Rahane has also been in excellent form, notching up a century in the second match before coming up with a patient half-century to help the visitors recover from a poor start on Friday.

(Read | India vs West Indies: Batting order no problem for consistent Ajinkya Rahane)

The Indian bowlers have performed satisfactorily, especially fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar and left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav.

Windies struggle

The West Indies on the other hand, have struggled so far. Despite playing in their home conditions, the hosts have not been up to the mark in both batting and bowling.

The lack of experience in the young squad led by pacer Jason Holder is one of the factors responsible for the poor performance by the hosts.

However, they have nothing to lose and good performances in the remaining couple of matches in this series will give them some much needed confidence as they seek to qualify for the 2019 ICC World Cup.
