A very average batting performance by the West Indies took them to 189/9 in 50 overs. Openers Evin Lewis and Kyle Hope were the top-scorers with 35 each. Pace bowler Umesh Yadav and medium pacer Hardik Pandya were the pick of the bowlers for India, both picking up three wickets each. Spinner Kuldeep Yadav also scalped two wickets. In reply, India were poor except Ajinkya Rahane and MS Dhoni, both of whom scored half-centuries. West Indies captain Jason Holder picked up his maiden five-wicket haul in ODIs to bowl out India for 178, thereby helping West Indies clinch an 11-run victory to keep themselves alive in the 5 ODI series.
