A 20-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 45-year-old father for six months in Nauchandi police station area in Meerut, the police said on Thursday.
The girl had complained that her father had raped her on several occasions in the past six months. Upon objecting, he beat her up and threatened to kill her, a police spokesperson said.

Based on the complaint, an FIR has been registered against the father, inspector of Nauchandi police station Harsharan Sharma said, adding that he has been arrested and sent to jail.
A medical examination of the girl was conducted after which she was sent to women's police station, they said.
