4 of family get 5-yr RI for muder bid

Additional sessions judge Yogesh Jaswal has sentenced four of family, including three women, to five-year rigorous imprisonment in an attempt to murder case.

The convicted have been identified as Brij Lal, Indira Devi, Phulla Devi and Kanta Devi of Amarsingh Pura of Rohin area of Ghumarwin block. They would have to undergo five-year and two-year imprisonment for the offence committed under Sections 307 and 148 of the IPC and each would have to pay a fine of Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,000.

Brij Lal has also been convicted under Section 25 of the Arms Act with simple imprisonment for two years and will have to pay a fine of Rs 3,000.Complainant Sri Ram, younger brother of Brij Lal, had complained that Brij and other accused attacked him with sharp-edged weapons and opened fire on him when he asked them not to axe his share of Khair trees on December 26, 2011.
