5 coaches of Awadh express gutted in fire, no injuries

The train, which travels from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh to Mumbai, was passing through Bharuch district when fire was noticed in one of its coaches.

Five coaches of the Awadh express were destroyed in a fire which broke out near Ahmedabad in the wee hours on Monday, railway sources said.

However, no one was injured in the incident, they said.

The train, which travels from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh to Mumbai, was passing through Bharuch district when fire was noticed in one of its coaches, the sources said.

After getting the information, fire fighters doused the flame and the train resumed its journey at 6 am. The gutted coaches were left at the station.

Railways is probing the incident, the sources added.
