6 municipal council candidates disqualified for 3 years

Haryana state election commissioner Dharam Vir on Friday said the Commission had disqualified six candidates for municipal council elections for three years for failing to submit their expenditure statements.

Haryana state election commissioner Dharam Vir on Friday said the Commission had disqualified six candidates for municipal council elections for three years for failing to submit their expenditure statements.

These candidates, who had contested general elections of Municipal Council, Kaithal on December 19, 2010, neither submitted their election expenditure statement nor bothered to file reply of the show cause notice issued
to them.

He said that as per the Haryana Municipal Election Expenditure (Maintenance and Submission of Accounts)order, 2006, every contesting candidate had to file his or her account of election expenses within 30 days after the
declaration of election result.

These candidates are Reena and Santosh of Ward No 4, Urmila and Saroj Bala of Ward No15, Sanjeev of Ward No 27 and Sweety of Ward No 32.
