Advani to visit city on March 23

SENIOR BHARATIYA Janata Party leader and leader of Opposition in Parliament Lal Krishna Advani is scheduled to visit Varanasi on March 23, State BJP chief Keshari Nath Tripathi said.

SENIOR BHARATIYA Janata Party leader and leader of Opposition in Parliament Lal Krishna Advani is scheduled to visit Varanasi on March 23, State BJP chief Keshari Nath Tripathi said.

He is scheduled to visit the blast site at Sankat Mochan Temple and the Cantonment Railway station and also the injured admitted in different hospitals in the city.

BJP national president Rajnath Singh and UP BJP Chief Keshari Nath Tripathi are among the party leaders scheduled to accompany Advani to Varanasi on March 23.

However, contrary to the reports that Advani is also scheduled to set off his another yatra from Varanasi, Tripathi said, the yatra had nothing to do with Advani's Varanasi visit.

It may be mentioned that other VIPs who visited the blast site inside the temple premises included UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil, Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, former Union Minister Dr Murli Manohar Joshi, founder of Art of Living and spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shanker, BJP chief Rajnath Singh, rebel SP MP Raj Babbar, former MP chief minister Uma Bharti, former UP BJP chief Vinay Katiyar, Javed Akhtar, Swami Agnivesh etc,
Eminent lyricist, Javed Akhtar, Mufti Banaras Maulana Abdul Batin Nomani and
Syed Shah Fazal-e-Rehman, Imam of Teele Wali mosque in Lucknow were among a large number of Muslims who paid their obeisance at the Temple and showered flowers at the blast site inside the Temple.

Former Prime Minister VP Singh and human rights activist, Teesta Setalwad also visited the temple on Sunday.
