"On the morning of November 26, IB and RAW cleared the security arrangements for the Prime Minister's November 28 visit to the hotel," Patil told reporters in an informal interaction.

The luxury hotel was one of the venues where terrorists struck on the fateful day.

"It is true that IB and RAW had earlier warned the State Government about possible attacks through various advisories which were not specific", Patil said.

Explaining the security clearance for PM's visit despite the advisories, Patil said "there is a possibility that concerned officers were unaware about the warning issued earlier by the agencies."

Asked if the State Government acted on warnings about attacks given by RAW and IB, Patil said the government had taken "appropriate action".
