Alleging massive rigging in naxal-infested areas, outgoing Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi on Saturday said that BJP's victory in the state assembly elections was not "legitimate".
"There was massive rigging in naxal-infested areas by BJP. CRPF was used to cast votes," Jogi claimed at a press conference in Raipur.
The new BJP government in the state, therefore, would not be 100 per cent legitimate, he said.
Jogi alleged CRPF personnel took Electronic Voting Machines with them in helicopters and after casting votes, returned them back.
This led to Congress losing 20 out of 23 seats in naxal-hit areas, he said alleging Union Minister of State for Home Swamy Chinmayanand camped in Bastar for three days, the divisional headquarters of CRPF.
Jogi said in Bastar district's Abujhmad area where the naxalites had given the call for boycott of polls, 84 per cent voting was recorded.
This showed the polls were rigged in naxal-infested areas, he said.
As many as 139 companies of para-troopers were deployed in the state during elections which was more than the presence of security forces in Kashmir valley at present, Jogi claimed.
This was all part of a conspiracy by the Centre in tribal areas, he said.
