The country’s information technology and business process outsouring (BPO) industry may be hit by a sluggish recovery in recession-hit Western economies that have been its main markets, but it is still looking at a compounded annual growth rate of 15 per cent in the decade ahead, thanks to emerging opportunities closer home in the Asian region.

“Even as total demand for global outsourcing services is expected to grow by 4.9 per cent every year from 2008 to 2020, demand from Asia-Oceania countries is expected to grow by around 7 per cent every year in the same period,” KPMG said in a statement.
