A teenager was also killed in the clashes and a pregnant woman was wounded, the military said in a statement.
The factory was in the area of Taji, a mostly Sunni town situated near a large US military base.
"After the fighting, Coalition Forces ... discovered significant caches consisting of rocket-propelled grenades, machine guns, anti-aircraft weapons, pipe bombs and more than 3,000 feet of detonation cord," the military said.
