Parimoksh , member national executive BJP youth wing, though says he filed PIL as his religious sentiments were hurt on seeing the open sale of beef in some pockets of Pahalgam in the Kashmir Valley and incidents of cow slaughter in the Jammu region in 2014.

"I was hurt and shocked to see the sale of beef in Kashmir in violation of law. It was then I decided to file a PIL, but has got nothing to do with my political beliefs," he said.

A practising lawyer, Parimoksh filed the PIL in 2014, the year when incidents of cow slaughter were reported in Bani and Patnitop areas of the Jammu region, resulting in communal tension. He said it shouldn't be given any religious colour.
