The state leadership has now taken such activities as instances, ‘which contributed’ to the NDA’s rout in the 2015 state assembly elections by distracting the electorate from the main campaign with development as the main agenda.

The state BJP leadership has ‘verbally communicated’ to the party’s top brass in New Delhi that unless action was initiated against the three Lok Sabha MPs, “who caused extensive damage” to the party by their activities in the crucial assembly polls, discipline would become a casualty in the organisation.

“The leadership felt that the controversial statements were purposely issued by Shatrughan Sinha and RK Singh to jeopardise the BJP’s prospects in the elections”, said a top party insider. “Bhola Singh even went to the extent of working against the NDA nominees in Begusarai constituency, which he represents in the Lok Sabha,” added the source.

“We have conveyed our cadres’ strong feeling to the party leadership against some senior leaders in Bihar, who made no constructive contribution to the NDA campaign during the polls. On the contrary they issued statements, which grievously damaged the interest of the party,” said senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi, without mentioning the names of the above mentioned MPs.
