BJP wins 21 of 25 seats in Rajasthan

Amongst the prominent BJP winners are actor Dharmendra from Bikaner, Jaswant Singh's son Manvendra Singh and Bangaru Laxman's wife B Sushila.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Rajasthan on Thursday swept the polls winning 21 of the 25 parliamentary seats from the state.

Amongst the prominent BJP winners are Bollywood actor Dharmendra from Bikaner, who won by 55,000 votes, Union Finance Minister Jaswant Singh's son Manvendra Singh, by 270,000 votes and former BJP chief Bangaru Laxman's wife B Sushila who defeated Congress leader Buta Singh by over 39,000 votes.

Others in the list of winners are Union Minister Subash Maharia from Sikar who won by over 54,000 votes, Kailash Meghwal from Tonk, Srichand Kriplani from Chittorgarh, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia's son Dushyant Singh from Jhalawar, Jaswant Singh Vishnoi from Jodhpur, Bhanwar Singh Dangawas from Nagaur, Dhan Singh Rawat from Banswarat, Rasa Singh Rawat from Ajmer, Vishvendra Singh from Bharatpur and Ram Swaroop Koli from Bayana.

However, Jaskaur Meena, a BJP central minister, lost from Sawai Madhopur by a margin of 111,000 votes.

Amongst the prominent Congress winners was Sachin Pilot, son of the late Congress leader Rajesh Pilot, who won by 114,000 votes in Dausa. Karan Singh Yadav was declared elected from Alwar, defeating the BJP's Baba Chandnath by 8,370 votes.
