BHOPAL MUNICIPAL Corporation (BMC) today floated tenders for the appointment of consultants for two of its important projects – that of construction of seven major flyovers/subway and re-use of wastewater for irrigation of parks and plantations of the BMC.
Bids have been invited from consultants for the preparation of development plan of seven proposed constructions City. They include flyover at Subhash Nagar Railway crossing, over Hamidia Alpana Tiraha, Nadra Bus Stand and Bhopal Talkies, Railway Crossing at Airport Road, sub-way at Rangmahal Square, flyover from Police Headquarter to Rangmahal Square, another over
Budhwara, Mangalwara, Jumerati, Purana Kabadkhana and Kali Mandir and another from Pul Bogda filter plant to Raisen Road. Consultants also have been invited to prepare a project plan for the first phase of re-use of wastewater in the City. As much as 65 MGD drinking water is supplied in City everyday and of this, 80 per cent – 62 MGD of water later goes down the sewage network as wastewater.
The BMC has decided to re-use this water for irrigation of parks and roadside plantations as the partially treated wastewater includes important micronutrients.

{{/usCountry}}During the first phase, the BMC proposes to utilise the wastewater flowing in the nullah across the Ekant Park/Jungle to irrigate the parks and plantations owned by BMC on Link Road numbers 1, 2 and 3 as well as those in Char Imli, 74 Bungalows, Tulsi Nagar and Shivaji Nagar localities. Bids have been invited for the plan of this first phase.
