On Sunday BMC, invited traders who had their establishments in the outer circles to a meeting in this regard. Initial efforts were made to persuade New Market traders to colour and decorate their shops in uniformity. The three dozen traders present at the meeting responded positively to this suggestion. Some more meetings to discuss this issue will be held in the near future.

In the second phase, shopkeepers inside New Market will be persuaded to opt for a uniform look. During the meeting, it was suggested that all traders in the outer circle of New Market should paint their buildings white and traders consented.

It was also suggested that all traders should put up boards of equal dimensions and a decision was taken that these boards should be of 90 centimeter in width.
