Canon outlines vision to double its revenue in India

Canon launches new products to impliment its plan to double the revenue over the next two years.

Canon on Wednesday unveiled its ambitious expansion plans in India with the launch of 24 new products including cameras, printers and camcorders, taking the number of launches from its stable to 37 during the year.

The electronic goods giant also plans to double its revenues over the next two years from Rs 400 crores at present, Kensaku Konishi, president and CEO, Canon India said at the launch of its products in New Delhi.

"As we work towards doubling our revenues in India over the next two years, we are aiming at doubling results in all aspects of our business - be it value for partners, delighting our customers, enriching the consumer experience or the number of cutting edge products introduced in the market," Kensaku said.

"With the new products that we are launching today across our Imaging Communication and Consumer Systems Products division, we have expanded our portfolio to 138 products, offering consumers the best technology available in the market by making Canon the world leader in digital imaging," he added.

Canon reported a 42 per cent growth in its revenue over the last year.
