Celebrations mark 10th anniversary of DPS, Gurgaon

Delhi Public School, sector 45, Gurgaon, completed 10 years of academic and co-curricular excellence with a week long celebration. Junior and senior council members presented a skit, song and dance performance followed by a visual quiz on the Ramayana.

The annual talent show, Khel Khela, exhibited an array of dances depicting both the contemporary and traditional style of sports. The chief guest for the occasion was Neeta Rastogi, principal, Sadhu Vasvani International School while Anita Malhotra, principal Lotus Valley, Gurgaon and Mita Rai, principal, DPS Indirapuram also graced the occasion. An inter-house music festival featuring folk songs and fusion dance was also held. Pramod Grover, chairman, DPS, Gurgaon and Dhara Jaipuria, pro-vice chairperson congratulated the school and urged students to dream big.

Mount Abu Public School, Rohini, hosted the CBSE zone I Swimming Championship 2011. The championship commenced with the inauguration by chief guest Pushkar Vohra, AEO Sports. Eminent personalities Raj Kumar, CBSE observer and Kamal Kishore, secretary, Delhi Swimming Association presided over as the guests of honour. Swimmers from 72 schools across the country participated in different categories such as U-12, U-14, U-16 and U-19. The ceremony concluded with the prize distribution to winners by school chairman DN Arora. Principal Jyoti Arora appreciated the budding swimmers for their exquisite performance, dedication and team spirit.

Ramjas School, Pusa Road, presented Shahr-e-Dilli, a music, dance and drama programme that re-enacted the journey covered by the capital city during the 100 years of its existence. Performed at the Shri Ram Centre, Mandi House, the play directed by Kiran of Khilona theatre, brought alive the various facets of city life. The guests of honour were the school’s chairman Autar Krishna and manager Shubhra Gupta. Expressing her pleasure at the success of the performance, principal Mohini Bindra said, “The workshop is an attempt to tap the students’ potential and provide them with a platform to let their creativity soar.
