Chand, 43, had created a stir by converting to Islam and changing his name from Chander Mohan to Chand Mohammad to marry his ladylove the former Additional Advocate General Anuradha Bali alias Fiza.

Fiza’s family said she was not in a position to give any statement on Chand’s assertion that he was “missing” his first wife and children.

A day later, Fiza was rushed to a hospital in a semi-conscious state following an overdose of sleeping pills and blood pressure tablets. She was arrested on Friday for allegedly attempting suicide but was released on bail.

However, Fiza had denied that she had attempted suicide and dismissed reports that her relationship with Chand their was “strained”. She alleged that Chand was not returning home as he was under pressure from his family who were trying to “lure him back”.

“We have normal relations. Even though Chand spoke to me once (in past three days) and said he was okay, but I feel he was speaking under some pressure,” she had said on Friday.
