Addressing an election rally at Kamptee, 20km from here, she alleged BJP, Shiv Sena and the Third Front lacked vision and programmes to run the affairs of the country.

Gandhi criticised the communal policies of saffron parties, saying “these people are the real enemies of the country.”

Reiterating her party’s commitment to fight terror in the country, she claimed the country has made tremendous progress during the tenure of UPA government.

The Congress President said the Congress-led government has waived crop loan to the tune of Rs 65,000 crores to bail them out of crisis. It was Prime Minister’s special power which has helped provide jobs and fill up 53,000 vacancies for the Schedule Caste and Schedules Tribes and promotions, she said.

The economic policies pursued by Congress governments have indeed helped the country to face the global economic recession which made only a little impact on the country, the UPA chairperson claimed.
