Sporadic incidents of communal violence continued in Shahpur area of the city today leaving three persons injured, even as a 52-year-old man succumbed to wounds sustained in Tuesday's clashes.
The deceased Vijay Datania was injured in the head during stone-throwing by two groups in Nagoriwad lane of Shahpur area. A few others were also wounded in the clashes.
Meanwhile, a man was injured today after a mob attacked him near R C Technical School. He was rescued by police and taken to a hospital. In another incident, two men were stabbed near Mirzapur rural court in the area, police said.
"There were some sporadic incidents of violence in Shahpur. Some people were injured and have been taken to hospital," Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) N N Gohil said.
Gohil confirmed the stabbing incident also. "The mobs of two groups were dispersed by police and the situation was brought under control," he said.
