Congress party has accused Omar Abdullah of being an 'opportunist' and not ready for progressive agenda.
Reacting to the remark by Omar Abdullah made other day that both former chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi were opportunists, Azad while addressing a press conference informed mediapersons, "In fact Omar is the biggest opportunist. JK Congress chief Saifuddin Soz while criticising Omar said, "Omar Abdullah-led NC government was not ready for progressive agenda. NC people behaved extremely Kashmir-centric. The Congress feels that Omar wanted to grab Hurriyat agenda."

"The NC did not allow local bodies elections, created hurdles in preparing one-time settlement package for Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) refugees and also delayed relief to border residents," he added.

On the allegations by Congress leaders that Omar Abdullah became liability for Congress, Soz said, "The government did not do well in the last phase. Governance was causality and it took a beating. However, the Congress believed that a fractured government was better than governor's rule".

Meanwhile, Soz added that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would not be able touch double digit in the ongoing assembly elections here in the state.

However keeping doors of reconciliation open with the NC, Soz said, "the Congress is not giving a 'permanent divorce' to NC. Whatever Congress has said about Omar Abdullah and the NC, it is only constructive criticism."
