The CPI(M) Politburo member Anil Biswas said that the Left parties would make a separate submission on the focus of the Union Budget to be presented in the Parliament by Finance Minister P Chidambaram on July 8.

Biswas, the party's West Bengal secretary, said "We want that the economic policies as provided in the CMP should provide the basic framework of the budget."

To a query whether the CPI(M) and other Left parties would attend the UPA meeting on the Budget on Friday, he said that Left parties would make separate submissions.

On the timing of the submission by the Left parties, he said "let them (the ruling alliance) first inform us what they are planning to do."

The CPI(M) has already demanded the roll back of Rs 20 in LPG price hike and also make the petroleum pricing mechanism more transparent.
