Blaming CPM for ongoing trouble in Lalgarh in West Bengal, the CPI (Marxist-Leninist) on Friday said "exploitation" of people by Marxists for the past three decades helped Maoists make inroads into the tribal-dominated area.
"Lalgarh is witnessing trouble as the funds meant for development activities of this area failed to reach people as it had been pocketed by the CPI (M) cadres," CPI (ML) secretary K N Ramachandran said here.
"The people in Lalgarh have been exploited by CPI (M) cadres and police. Marxists have indulged in goondaism and corruption in the last 30 years which has given rise to people's anger against the government in parts of West Bengal," he charged.
The CPI (ML) secretary warned that the days of CPI (M) were "numbered" as it was pursuing capitalist policies. "The party is going to be wiped out from the country."
Ramachandran claimed that the crackdown on People's Committee Against Police Atrocities (PCAPA) would benefit the Trinamool Congress and Congress in the upcoming assembly polls in West Bengal.
Stating that his party was against violence in any forum, he charged Maoists with alienating masses from the Communist movement through its anarchist actions.
