The cut-off for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) main exam for entrance to the IITs increased marginally this year, according to scores declared on Friday night.
Nearly 12.78 lakh students had appeared for the JEE (mains). This year's highest score was 355 out of 360, according to official sources.
The JEE website says the cut-off for JEE (advanced) in the general category is 115 out of 360 marks.
Among the reserved categories, the cut-off is 74 for other backward classes (OBC), 53 for scheduled castes (SC) and 47 for scheduled tribes (ST).
The cut-offs in all categories are marginally higher than last year's.
The top 1.5 lakh students from JEE (mains) would now appear for the JEE (advanced) exam on May 25 for admission to the 16 IITs in the country.
Registrations for JEE (advanced) opened on Saturday and will continue till May 9.
The final results will be known on July 7 after all school board exam results are out, since board results have 40% weightage in the IIT entrance.
