The death toll from Typhoon Bilis in China has risen to 156 as two more people were confirmed dead in south China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region when their houses collapsed in floods.
Local disaster officials said on Monday that 1.135 million people were affected in Guangxi by Bilis which has also caused 37.5 million US dollars worth of economic loss.
Heavy rain in Guangxi is continuing, forcing 224 reservoirs to discharge floodwater. More than 30,000 people stranded by flood have been evacuated till Monday, Xinhua news agency reported from Nanning, the regional capital.
Central China's Hunan is the worst hit province as 78 people have been confirmed dead and more than 100 missing as swirling flood waters swept away homes. Floods and rainstorms accompanying Bilis also claimed 33 lives in Guangdong Province and 43 in Fujian Province.
The floods have also led to evacuation of nearly five million people in the affected provinces and regions.
Local rescue teams, backed by the army, are engaged in massive rescue and relief operations.

Flooding cut the main Beijing-Guangzhou railway line, stranding 5,000 passengers at the station in Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan province. The passengers have all been sent to nearby cities.
At least 2.3 million people in Hunan Province have been affected by the rainstorm and floods. About 31,400 houses were toppled.
