"Delhi University is a central university and does not come within our ambit ... We have little role," Dikshit told reporters in Bhubaneswar in response to a query.

The origin of radioactive Cobalt-60 found in west Delhi's Mayapuri area, which led to the death of one person, was traced to the university's Chemistry department.

Dikshit, who was here to attend a function, said Bhaba Atomic Research Centre (BARC) was also looking into the matter and efforts were on to ascertain how the radioactive material reached a scrap dealer from the university.
