Delhi police crime branch is likely to question Shashi Garg, managing director of Infraline Energy, a Noida-based energy consultancy firm in their ongoing probe in the corporate espionage case.
Garg, who took over the reins of the company after her husband Yogesh Garg died when he was hit by his own private jet in 2012, was evading the probe till Tuesday as her whereabouts were not known to the police.
On Tuesday, crime branch officers confirmed that they had contacted her. They also said Garg was currently in Delhi and that their team would question her in a day or two.
Infraline Energy’s name surfaced in the case after the company’s senior executive Lokesh Sharma was arrested on alleged charges of leaking confidential documents from coal, power and oil ministries offices. An FIR, second in the leakage scam, was registered in the last week of February.
Investigators have already questioned Ashwani Dhar, the company’s CEO in connection with the illegal business of procuring stolen classified ministries documents and using them for profit.
Though investigators did not find Dhar’s direct role in the case, he has not been given a clean chit. His questioning revealed that Garg was aware of the entire illegal business, police said.
“We want to probe her role in the case. We raided the company’s office in Noida and seized some computers but found that most of the data was already erased. We are trying to retrieve the deleted data,” said a senior investigating officer.

{{/usCountry}}Infraline Energy that was founded in 2000-01 by Yogesh Garg, witnessed a big economic boom from 2005 till his death. Sources said Yogesh was very close to former union petroleum minister Ram Naik.
“So far we have learnt that Infraline Energy used to upload such stolen documents on their website for their paid subscribers based in India and abroad. The company charged an annual fee of R6 lakh for every subscription. The six corporate houses which have been named in the case are also among the subscribers,” the officer said.
Court sends 3 accused to judicial custody
Three accused, Lokesh Sharma, Jitender Nagpal and Vipan Kumar, who were arrested in the corporate espionage case, were on Tuesday remanded to judicial custody till March 17, after the Delhi Police said their custodial interrogation is not required.
