Making efforts to crack the mystery surrounding the ailment of Rahul Mahajan and the death of his aide Vivek Moitra, Delhi Police on Saturday began pursuing the drug angle amidst suggestions of poisoning of the two.
Delhi Police filed a case under Narcotics Act against some 'unknown persons' for consumption of drugs and destruction of evidence in the sensational high-profile case involving the son of late senior BJP leader Pramod Mahajan.
The case was registered at Tughlak Road police station under Section 27 of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Manish Agrawal told reporters in New Delhi.
The case was registered on the basis of initial information available to police and any arrest in the case would depend on the basis of investigation.
Sahil Zarru, who was present at the Mahajan residence on Thursday night, who was arrested in Srinagar denied he had any role in the mystery death of Vivek Moitra and the illness of Rahul Mahajan.
Police have also lodged a case of destruction of evidence in the matter. The scene of the incident at 7, Safdarjang Road was disturbed as servants had removed the champagne bottles and cleaned the floor of the vomit of the duo.

{{/usCountry}}"We are in the process of collecting evidence. Depending on what details come we will take action against whosoever is involved," he said.
Rahul Mahajan and Moitra had consumed champagne and allegedly snorted drugs at the Mahajan residence on Thursday night.
