Digvijay's brother endorses Scindia as MP poll committee chief

"Congress will definitely gain with the appointment of Scindia as election campaign committee chief in the state Assembly polls," state party unit Vice President Laxman Singh told reporters here last evening.

Reacting to BJP's criticism of Scindia which called him "feudal", Singh said the Union minister had questioned the saffron party as to why it did not think of feudalism over affiliation of his grandmother (Vijayaraje Scindia) or aunts (Vasundhara Raje and Yashodhara Raje Scindia) with that party.

On the party's prime ministerial candidate, Laxman said since the country did not have a presidential form of government, declaration of a PM nominee before the elections amounted to an insult of the Constitution.

Terming as incorrect, reports that his elder brother - Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh - had been sidelined in the state party unit, Laxman said all party leaders understood the necessity of having Digvijaya on board.
