EC refuses to allow Uma Bharti's Ratangarh visit

BJP vice-president Uma Bharti was denied permission by the Election Commission (EC) to visit Chhattarpur and Ratangarh, where a temple stampede left 115 people dead.


The EC decision was conveyed to her by the district collector in his capacity as returning officer. Bharti said that she wanted to visit Chhattarpur for a Dussehra programme and Ratangarh to see the stampede site.
