The incident took place late on Monday when an overcrowded minibus carrying the labourers from Agra to Ghaziabad rammed into a tree while overtaking another vehicle. With the impact of the collision, the passengers were thrown out on the busy GT Road in Aligarh when a speeding tourist bus coming from Delhi crushed them to death.
Police said the labourers, mostly from Bihar, were being taken to Ghaziabad to lay a cable line.
The driver and the conductor of the tourist bus fled the scene.
The injured were rushed to Aligarh hospital.
